I’ve heard crafters and DIYers rave about Harbor Freight for years, and I finally made the trip to see what all the hype was about. Turns out, this hardware store has been hiding some of the best budget craft finds I’ve seen in a while, and I’m kicking myself for not checking it out sooner.

In my new video, I walk through Harbor Freight aisle by aisle looking for anything a crafter, sewist, or DIYer could use, and honestly, the haul surprised me. From a $2.99 storage container that turned out to be the perfect fit for my sewing labels, to a suction cup ruler holder that keeps my acrylic rulers from sliding while I cut fabric, to a $7.99 canvas drop cloth I’ve used before to make an oversized floor pillow, there was a lot more here than tools and hardware.

Watch the full haul below to see everything that made the cut (and the couple of things I’d skip), plus my honest first impressions of shopping at Harbor Freight as a crafter.

A few of my favorite finds:

  • Quinn scissors and 11-inch shears for cutting through heavy fabric, cardboard, and even leather
  • Magnetic parts bowls repurposed as pin catchers for sewing
  • A magnetic pickup wand for grabbing dropped pins, needles, and screws without bending over
  • A locking hemostat/tube turner for flipping sewing projects right-side out
  • A rolling craft cart that’s bigger and sturdier than what I’ve seen at craft stores, for a fraction of the price
  • A wire wheel drill attachment for distressing wood on DIY builds

I also grabbed a cordless power cutter to test out on fabric and cardboard, plus a full cart of clamps, brushes, and organizational finds that will be showing up in my craft room and garage projects all fall and winter.

Watch the video above, and let me know in the comments: what store should I raid next for craft finds?
