If you’ve ever watched a thrifting video, fallen in love with a one-of-a-kind find, and then thought there’s absolutely no way I’m finding that at my store — hi, same. That’s exactly why this week’s video is a little different.
Instead of hunting for a specific item, we’re hunting for the right shape and size. That mindset shift? Total game changer. Whether you’re at your local Goodwill, a Salvation Army, or literally just walking around your own house, there are diamonds in the rough waiting to become something beautiful — and I’m going to show you exactly how to see them.
In this video, I’m sharing some of my favorite thrifted makeovers, including:
- DIY no-wire lamps made from candlesticks, wicker vases, and items you probably already own
- A pleated lampshade makeover inspired by Studio McGee (with fabric from my stash!)
- Frame flips using fabric scraps, craft tape, and watercolor paint
- Creative uses for baskets — from gift baskets to vase alternatives to functional decor
- A peek at my grandma’s hutch and all the thrifted treasures I’ve been slowly styling it with
No electrical skills required. No fancy tools. Just a hot glue gun, a little creativity, and the willingness to see potential in something that someone else left behind.
