Hey craft buddies!
One of my absolute favorite mediums to create with is wood. You can make so many affordable, substantial pieces that look high-end without the price tag. In today’s video, I’m sharing a bunch of Christmas wood diy projects you can make for your home—or turn into Christmas woodworking projects that sell at markets. I’ll give you the overview below, and you can watch the full video to see all the steps, tips, and finishing touches in action.
How to find my FREE downloads mentioned in the video
You can find my free files in my Free File Library. If you aren’t already a Whiskey Craft Buddy e-newsletter subscriber, you can do that via the blue bar at the top of this site and I’ll send the password right to your inbox.

1) DIY Wood Mug Tree
I’m kicking things off with a simple, giftable mug tree made from 1x boards and a 2×2 post. I add hooks, a decorative knob topper, and finish it in a neutral stain so it works for the holidays and beyond. This one is quick to batch, so it’s perfect for Christmas wood crafts to make and sell or to pair with cute mugs and cocoa for teacher or neighbor gifts. It’s an easy win if you’re dipping your toes into diy christmas wood crafts.

2) Scrap Wood Christmas Tree Lot
If you have a wood scrap pile (same!), this scrap wood Christmas project is for you. I cut triangle trees from 1x and 2x offcuts using 22.5° angles, then finish them with Early American stain or a faux-stain look using Waverly Moss paint. I love grouping these on a mantel with fairy lights. They’re fast, charming, and totally count as diy wooden Christmas decorations that you can customize a million ways.

3) Rustic Wood Churches
These little churches are made from 2x4s and 2x2s, and they turn out so cottage-chic. I sketch windows (or trace a cardboard template), add hand-painted details, and use baking soda paint for a snowy roof texture. If you’re looking for Christmas wood projects that are beginner-friendly but still feel special, these churches are it. They also make great wood Christmas crafts to sell in sets.

4) Santa Wood Cutout (Free Template!)
I created a printable Santa template so you can make this layered cutout without freehanding. I cut the beard, brim, and mustache, add texture with baking soda paint for that fluffy look, and finish with tiny wire glasses (a sweet nod to my son’s specs!). This one has my whole heart. It’s a standout Christmas wood diy that you’ll bring out year after year—and yes, it’s absolutely a diy christmas wood project you can batch for gifts too.

5) Vintage-Style Wooden Sled
I’ve wanted a vintage sled forever, so I designed a version you can make with 1x boards and a jigsaw. The curved skis, crimson paint, and rope handle bring the nostalgia. It’s a showpiece for an entryway or porch and a fantastic addition to a booth if you’re doing Christmas woodworking projects that sell. Don’t be intimidated—if you can cut a gentle curve and sand, you can do this.

6) Interchangeable Wooden Sign Post
This may be the most practical Christmas wood craft of the bunch: a stained post with industrial Velcro so I can swap the signs for any season. I cut arrow and standard sign blanks, add vinyl lettering (or hand-lettering), and seal them. The topper can be a flat cap or a solar light. It’s a great all-year decor piece you’ll actually use, and it’s super customizable for buyers if you’re selling.
If you love DIY Christmas wood projects and Christmas wooden crafts as much as I do, you’re going to have a blast with these. From diy wooden Christmas decorations to scrap wood Christmas projects, there’s something here for every skill level—and plenty of ideas you can batch if you’re prepping Christmas wood crafts for a market.

Why Wood Projects Are Perfect for Christmas
Wood is one of my go-to materials for seasonal crafting because it’s inexpensive, durable, and versatile. With just a few cuts, a little sanding, and some paint or stain, you can create endless fall wood crafts and Halloween wood crafts that fit your style.
Plus, wood crafts that sell fast are always in demand at craft fairs this time of year. Things like quick wood projects to sell, DIY with wood scraps, and recycled wood crafts ideas are not only budget-friendly but also make great profit-builders if you’re stocking your booth or Etsy shop.
Each one uses affordable materials and simple tools, and I share plenty of wood scraps ideas and wood craft painting techniques along the way.
