It’s Mystery Box time again, Craft Buddies!
When I tell you I was nervous to open this box… understatement of the year. 😅 This round of the Christmas Mystery Box Challenge (hosted by Courtney at Creative on the Cheap, guest rules by Christina Elizabeth) came with a twist: use everything in the box—including chenille stems (pipe cleaners!). My box was packed by the always-hilarious Kristen K, and the theme was Gingerbread & Candy Cane Lane. Challenge accepted.
What was inside?
Think: a “No Girls Allowed” sign (yep), a Mr. Clean spray bottle, a mason-jar sign, dowel pins, a Walmart greenery pick, ribbon, a gingerbread ornament, and a mini spatula… plus the pipe cleaners. I also sent a box to Wendy at White Sparrow Living—go watch her video next to see what I put her through. 😉
How I turned chaos into cozy Christmas decor
This video is all about budget-friendly, rustic Christmas DIYs—the kind that look like primitive Christmas decor you’d find at a boutique, but made with Dollar Tree, Walmart, and stash supplies. If you love gingerbread crafts, candy cane crafts, and nostalgic, vintage-y textures, you’re in the right place.
Why I love this challenge
It pushes me to think outside the box (literally) and proves you can craft cozy Christmas decor on a budget with what you already have. If you’re into easy Christmas DIY projects that feel designer but approachable, hit play and craft along. I’ll also link the free templates, supply notes, and the full playlist so you can see what everyone made.
P.S. Templates like the leaf wreath + reindeer details are in my Free File Library. Not on the list yet? Grab instant access via the blue bar at the top of this page in seconds and start creating!
