Hi friends!

I’m excited to share this DIY farmhouse coffee table build we made from Ana White’s plans! I’ve been wanting to do an Ana White build for FOREVER and we finally got around to it.

This table has a TON of hidden storage and you can also use it as a toy box (which is what we’ll be doing for Finn). Let’s get building!

Wood You’ll Need:

We used off-the-shelf pine. If you don’t like sanding, consider getting a bit nicer wood to save you time and headache. If you want a cheaper project, use the pieces below, but you will have to do more sanding.

All available for buy online pick up in-store at Home Depot.
(4) 1x4s, 8 feet long
(2) 1x2s, min. 6 feet long
(1) 1×3, min. 6 feet long
(1) 1×8, min. 6 feet long
(1) Project Panel, the plans call for 36″ x 15-1/4″, we bought a 36″x16″ panel at Menards and had to trim it down. This is the closest I can find online, we got all ours in store.

TOOLS

Nail Gun – ours is a Ryobi 18-gauge Brad Nailer
Mitre Saw (this is the new one we purchased after the one we used died on us…)
Hand Saw (if you don’t have a compound miter saw) – this one is super affordable
Drill – Ryobi
Kreig Jig Saw attachment
Kreig Jig

(1) set of 3″ hinges, 2 total
Felt pads or cushion
Screws – approx 10-15, at least 1.5″ no longer than 2″ – we used cabinet screws
1.25″ brad nails
Minwax Dark Walnut Stain
Rustoleum Linen White Chalk Paint
Polycrilic or Ployurathane for sealant
Wood Glue

Cut List

Cut your 1x4s to create 16 pieces with these measurements. These will come together to make the four sides of the table. We stained these.
8 – 1x4x33″ and 8 – 1x4x13″

Cut your 1×3 and 1×4 to create 4 pieces each with these measurements. These will become your corner pieces. We painted these white.
4 – 1x3x16.25″ and 4 – 1x2x16.25″

Cut your second 1×2 to 36″. This will become part of the box topper where you will attach your hinges. We stained this piece to match the project panel for a cohesive look.
1 – 1×2 @ 36″

Cut your 1×8 to create 2 pieces at 33″ long. These will be screwed together with the Kreig Jig and pocket hole screws. We stained these.
