Hey, friend!

If you’re like me, then you love to use your vinyl cutting machine for all sorts of projects and crafts. But sometimes, buying all the blanks and supplies can get pricey… which is why I love shopping at Dollar Tree!

They’ve got a huge selection of Cricut blank options, plus they now also sell vinyl and tools you can use wh! Today, I’ll be sharing what kinds of blanks you can find in Dollar Tree stores (both inside and outside of the crafting aisle) — and showing how to make fun Cricut DIYs at home with them. And if you have another brand of cutting machine, no worries! You can make these projects, too!

One of my favorites has to be this 20″x20″ wood-framed sign with some Dollar Tree Foam Board!

DOWNLOAD FREE VINYL CUT FILES

I love sharing my free .PNG and .SVG cut files for you to craft along with me! All you need to do is measure, import, cut, weed, and apply – making these projects quick and easy!

Weeding is the term used to describe the process of removing the excess vinyl from around your design. Or if you’re creating a stencil, remove the parts of the letters you want to stencil.

There are several different types of weeding tools available, and I typically use the Cricut weeding tool. However, I’ve been testing out the Dollar Tree weeding tool and it works pretty well!

If you are weeding something intricate, you’ll need some kind of light source behind your project while you weed (this makes it easier for you to see what you’re doing). And then simply use the hook edge side of your weeding tool—be careful not to poke through any parts that you want to keep! This may take a little practice for beginners but once you get going it shouldn’t take too long at all! Also, if you’d like to see it in action, be sure to watch the video below.

I hope you’ve enjoyed all of the fun ideas and hacks that I have shared with you in this post and video on Dollar Tree crafts! You can also check out this post for more Dollar Tree Cricut DIYs. And this one too!

If you found it helpful, I would love for you to tell your friends about it! Feel free to share this post on Facebook or Pinterest by using the social media buttons below, or leave a comment on YouTube if you’re watching my video tutorial. Thanks so much for reading and happy crafting!

  1. Whitney I am new to using cricut and I like most if not all of what you show and I have tried to download all of your free cuts but it does not seem to work for me please help

    1. Hey Roz –
Not sure what happened there but I’ve double-checked and it’s working now. You’re looking for the box at the bottom of the post that says “Download my Files” alongside the photo of the “Yay, you’re here” sign. I’ve updated my branding so the boxes are colorful now vs the gray. Shoot me an email at hello@whiskeyandwhit.com if the issue persists for you 🙂

  2. Hi Whitney,

Love these DIY’s. I tried to get your SVG Files by clicking on green ‘Download’ Button, but unfortunately, can’t get them. I will try again tomorrow, as brain cell just too tired to think just now. lol

  3. THANK YOU for two things: 1. recommending your expressions vinyl paper transfer tape. I used it for the first time this morning and I’m a total fan. 2. recommending using the iron-on cut setting for intricate text. TOTAL game-changer! I love your page!

  4. Hi Whitney,
I’m using my cricut for the first time doing your family welcome sign in the cricut craft fest. The hello side came out just fine, but the download for the welcome sign has your family name and I can’t find a blank one like in the video. I’m hoping a different download will pop up so I can continue. I don’t know how to use design space well enough yet to know if I can get rid of your family name and enter mine yet. Too new to know how. I’ll keep working at it! I’m invested.
    Sincerely,
    Christine
